About the role

As an Assistant Director of Rehab, you will serve as a key member of the rehabilitation leadership team, working closely with the Director of Rehab to oversee daily clinical operations and ensure the delivery of high-quality therapy services. You will balance hands-on patient care with administrative responsibilities, including staff supervision, quality assurance, and program development. This role requires strong clinical expertise combined with leadership skills to support a multidisciplinary therapy team.

You will act as a liaison between clinical staff and administration, helping to implement policies, manage workflows, and foster a collaborative environment that promotes professional growth and exceptional patient outcomes across all rehabilitation disciplines.

What you will do

• Assist the Director of Rehab in managing day-to-day operations of physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology services
• Supervise and mentor therapy staff, providing clinical guidance, performance feedback, and professional development support
• Maintain an active caseload of patients while fulfilling administrative duties
• Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and organizational policies
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including outcome tracking, documentation audits, and patient satisfaction programs
• Assist with staff scheduling, resource allocation, and departmental budget management
• Coordinate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care plans

What you need

• Valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech-Language Pathologist per state requirements
• Minimum of three to five years of clinical experience in a rehabilitation setting
• Prior leadership, supervisory, or charge therapist experience preferred
• Current BLS certification
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of Medicare regulations, documentation standards, and quality metrics
